Jesus has changed my life
Jesus Has Changed My Life
Jesus has changed my life,
Jesus has changed my life,
Jesus has changed my life—
I give him glory.
Jesus has changed my life,
Jesus has changed my life,
Jesus has changed my life—
I give him praise.
Once I was a sinner,
but I was unaware.
I was just out for fun,
to comfort me at night.
But the fun of the night
was followed by emptiness,
and I felt hunger for more life.
Once I was a sinner,
but I was unaware.
When I hurt the people
that surrounded me,
being hurt myself
made me unrighteous—
until that day
when Jesus saved me.
Once I was a sinner,
and now I am aware
that Jesus is the one
who gives me joy and life.
And his blessing each day
brings healing to all suffering.
His Spirit and love
comfort me.

Q: How has Jesus’ presence in your life made you more thankful for the blessings you have received?
A: The first thing we have to do is be aware that we have received a blessing. Many people say: “I got my goods and what I have through my hard work.” Then I say: “Ok, but who gave you the strength to work? Why are you healthy and able to go to work each day?”
…I was very sick 10 years ago and at the point of dying, but I awoke from the coma without permanent brain damage, which was a miracle. So of course, I am thankful not only for the blessings; I am thankful that God allows me to live and to get up each morning without help from others.
Q: In what ways have you personally experienced redemption through Jesus’ love and forgiveness?
A: To experience redemption, it is necessary to be aware that we need a redeemer. Most people live as I described in my song: they walk around, do their things, want to have fun, but are not aware that they have sin in their lives and need to repent.
…When we are honest, we all have told a lie once in our life. And already telling one single lie makes us sinners.
God cannot have fellowship with a sinner, because he is absolutely pure and holy. So we need Jesus to pay the price of sin for us and make it possible to have fellowship with the living God and not go to hell, but to heaven after this life on earth.
Q: How do you strive to reveal your faith and the transformation Jesus has brought to your life in the world around you?
A: I don’t seek to reveal my faith to the world around me, because the Bible teaches us not to share with everybody. When somebody does not want to receive the gospel of Christ, I let him or her go.
But I am always open to talk about Jesus with the people around me, and I watch for an opportunity to tell them about Jesus Christ and the work that he has done for them on Calvary.
Q: How do you envision the concept of paradise and living in the presence of Jesus? How does this hope shape your perspective on life?
A: The concept of paradise gives meaning and direction to my life. I don’t fear what will happen when I die and enter eternity, since Jesus has arranged everything for me. He said he will build a house for us in eternal life, and one day I will go there.
…So, I try to be like Enoch in the book of Genesis. He just walked with God, and one day God took him away.
Q: What steps do you take to actively live out your faith and share the love of Jesus with others?
A: To live out my faith actively, I sing and pray to Jesus and I read the Bible.
When we want to know God—who he is, his character, his will, and him as a person—we have to read the Bible, because it is God’s love letter and manual about life for us.
…I have already read the Bible at least 3 times from beginning to end.
…Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible is only theology, like any other religious book. But with the Holy Spirit, it becomes a treasure. Every time you read it, you experience new things, and the Word is always fresh.
Q: What exact glory did you give to God?
A: There are many ways we can give glory to God:
- Respecting and keeping his commandments. Jesus said: Those who love me will keep my commandments. Of course, we are saved by faith and grace, but Jesus taught us how to live according to his will, and when we want to give glory to God, we respect them.
- Talking about God to other people. When we talk about God, how good he is and what he has done for us, that is giving glory to God too.
- Visiting people who suffer. God says this is true worship: to visit widows and orphans in their affliction.
- Singing and praying to God. The main reason why I have written these songs is to give glory to God. Through music, I can talk directly to God in worship songs or testify to others that God exists.
